EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXPO VIRTUAL VISIT

The 2012 Emergency Preparedness Expo was a huge success.  It was attended by over 2,000 guests with 350 of those guests requesting notification of future events.  Over 200 volunteers helped during the two days of the expo.  There were 42 booths and 65 presentations.  72 units of blood were donated, exceeding the Red Cross goal.

Over the coming weeks, check this blog for a "Virtual Visit" of the expo.  If you attended, this can serve as a review.  If you weren't able to attend, this will be a great way to access wonderful preparedness information.

Welcome to the Emergency Expo 2012 Virtual Visit!

Meet Kent Stuart, Deputy Sheriff from Yamhill County Sheriff's Department.  Click on the left sidebar under "Wilderness Survival Like a Pro" to download a video of his presentation at the expo.

Ever wonder how you can communicate when traditional forms of cummunication have boken down?
Ham Radios will be the answer. Learn more about how to communicate during a disaster by clicking on the handout link at the left "Emergency Communications".

Dry or Powdered Milk isn't what you remember.  Those who sampled the powedered milk at the expo will attest to that!  And, it can be used in yummy treats like Peanut Butter Balls and Fruit Smoothies.

These women taught us how to use this food storage staple in new and exciting ways.  They researched the best price, the best taste and help us know the difference between instant and non-instant powdered milk.  Click on the left sidebar: Dry (Powdered) Milk for recipes and more information.
